Earn cash back with the IPL cricket in the UAE

Dunia Finance has announced an innovative cash back promotion this week for fans of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the UAE.

Cricket lovers can earn up to 6 per cent unlimited cash back on any spending they make on a day when an IPL match is played this season in the UAE. (Games are being played in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah due to the chaos caused by the general election polls across India).

The offer, which expires on April 30 when the IPL returns to India, is open to the financial institution’s existing credit card holders as well as anyone applying for a new card during the promotion period.

However, before you take your card out and spend to your heart’s content, there is a catch.

Yes, you can earn up to 6 per cent cash back on your spending but only on a single purchase.

So this is how it works: any spending on a Dunia credit card automatically earns you the usual 2 per cent cashback. Any spending on a day an IPL cricket match is played in the UAE earns you a further 2 per cent cash back on the highest value transaction of that day (this must be of a value greater than Dh1,000). Then if the team you support wins, you earn another 2 per cent cash back on that highest value transaction. This takes the potential cashback earning to 6 per cent.

While it might not be a 6 per cent earning on all your transactions, it’s always nice to receive something in return for your spending.

If you want to get involved, then you must register by emailing your name, the last four digits of your Dunia credit card and the team you support to cricket@dunia.ae.
