The emirate’s first private hospital dedicated to women is set to open as early as next week.
NMC Healthcare will open its US$30 million (Dh110m) BrightPoint Maternity Hospital with 100 beds in the first phase.
It will also open its 60-bed Dubai Investments Park General Hospital to patients about the same time.
“Both of these new healthcare facilities will commence operations with highly experienced teams of medical and administrative staff, which we will continue to expand along with the growth in operations,” said Dr B R Shetty, chief executive of NMC Healthcare.
The two new hospitals will double the company’s UAE bed capacity to 470.
About 64 per cent of its beds are in Abu Dhabi emirate and the rest in Dubai.
The group’s Sanaiya Medical Centre in Al Ain and its largest project – the $200m Khalifa City Hospital – are expected to open their doors this year and in the first half of next year.
NMC operates four hospitals, two day surgeries, a medical centre and eight in-hospital pharmacies in the UAE.
It also has plans for a day surgery centre in Mussaffah.
The number of private hospitals and beds in the country has been rising steadily since 2007.
