In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Will Smith has revealed that he turned down the role of Django, not because of its grim subject matter as had been rumoured in the press last year, but simply because didn’t think the titular character was the film’s real lead.
"Django wasn't the lead, so I was like, I need to be the lead. The other character was the lead," he said. The other character was, of course, the bounty hunter spectacularly played by Christoph Waltz, who finally does away with Leonardo DiCaprio's megaracist plantation owner with a cheeky bullet to the heart.
"I was like, 'No, Quentin, please, I need to kill the bad guy."
Smith still admitted he thought it was a “brilliant” film, and while we can’t exactly imagine him riding off into the sunset at the end instead of Foxx, perhaps he was actually right. Christoph Waltz was really the lead, right?

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
