Quoting an anonymous BBC executive, UK media reported on March 24 that the BBC team investigating the "fracas" between Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson and producer Oisin Tymon will reveal their verdict soon. The source told reporters that he thought the decision was "about 24 hours away".
Clarkson was suspended on March 10 after allegedly punching Tymon. Both have given their version of the incident to the BBC’s Ken McQuarrie.
Four Top Gear Live shows in Norway have been postponed, while the three remaining episodes of Top Gear's current season were cancelled after co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond reportedly refused to film without "Jezza".
#BringBackClarkson, a petition to reinstate the suspended presenter that was signed by one million fans, was delivered to the BBC by tank and a Stig lookalike a few days ago.
With more than 350 million viewers in 214 countries, Top Gear is the BBC's biggest cash cow: it earns about £50 million (Dh270m) in revenue each year for the broadcaster's commercial arm, BBC Worldwide.
