The first photo from the set of Star Wars in Abu Dhabi

With all kinds of speculation abounding as to what exactly is under way in the desert of Abu Dhabi, a tweet from one the film’s stars confirms that filming is definitely taking place this weekend.

John Boyega has tweeted out the first photo we’ve seen yet from the set. The photo shows the film slate with a bit of our desert sand thrown on to it for good measure, while Boyega tweets out ‘Day one of episode 7! Here we go!’
