India’s beloved ex-cricketer Sachin Tendulkar – who will soon feature in a documentary on his remarkable career – is annoyed by speculation that his daughter will soon make her debut in Bollywood.
“My daughter Sara is enjoying her academic pursuits. Annoyed at all the baseless speculation about her joining films,” Tendulkar tweeted on Monday.
Rumours have been rife that the 17-year-old Sara had been signed on to star opposite A-lister Shahid Kapoor in an unnamed film.
Meanwhile, Tendulkar is preparing for his film debut. Last month, the celebrity invited fans to suggest a title for the biopic.
Directed by London-based writer-filmmaker James Erskine, the film will tell the story of the star’s rise in international cricket and promises “never seen before footage”.
The biopic is being produced by Mumbai-based company 200 Not Out and World Sports Group, the firm that manages brand Sachin. In his 24 years with the Indian national cricket team, Tendulkar made 15,921 runs in 200 games, with an average of 53.78.
