<span class="s1"><strong>Ranbir Kapoor is IPL supporter</strong></span> <span class="s2">Ranbir Kapoor asserts that he “completely” supports his home team Mumbai Indians in the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League. “I am completely supporting Mumbai Indians,” Kapoor told a television channel while promoting his forthcoming film <em>Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani</em>. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the movie, coming out in the UAE on Thursday, is produced by Dharma Productions and stars Kapoor’s former girlfriend Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur. The film’s disco track <em>Badtameez Dil</em> has topped charts across India and is already a hit among youngsters. “In my case, I didn’t get to dance in the last two years... in <em>RockStar </em>I was a singer, and in <em>Barfi! </em>I was of course deaf and mute. So I completely went out and expressed my dancing in this film,” said Kapoor.</span> <span class="s1"><strong>Camera rolling on Kolkata’s Jews</strong></span> <span class="s3">Kolkata's dwindling Jewish population is the subject of a new documentary in production. Directed by Jaydip Mukherjee and Aloke Banerjee, it will focus on Shalom Israel, the caretaker of the Jewish cemetery and one of the remaining 26 Jews of the city. "This documentary is more of an observational film. I chose Shalom as he is the youngest member and fragile," Banjerjee said of the 41-year-old. "Most people are aged in the community, so they can't be asked." Shot in the Jewish cemetery where Shalom works, the film follows his work and his role as the guardian of the community's remaining seniors. "I am doing this documentary because it will help people to know about the decline of Jewish community," said Israel, who lives on the cemetery premises that has about 3,000 graves of Jews from Russia, Europe and other parts of the world. </span><span class="s4">– IANS</span> <span class="s1"><strong>D-Day inspired by Mumbai blasts</strong></span> The filmmaker Nikhil Adwani, who is gearing up for his film <em>D-Day</em>, says the Mumbai bomb blast "affected" his life and inspired him to make this film. "It has fictional characters. We have taken events from India's history and used them as triggers. I am particularly obsessed with the fact that I was 21 when the bomb blast happened in Mumbai... it affected my life quite a lot and I wanted to make a film to that particular event and that's why this film was made," said Adwani. <em>D-Day</em> is the story of four unassuming protagonists, all with varying back stories. It explores their journey, choices, loss and victory. Rishi Kapoor's character seems to have a resemblance to Dawood Ibrahim but Nikhil denied these reports. "Yes, all the fingers point to that person but nowhere in the film have I said that it is about him. The character in my film is completely fictional and a figment of my and my writers' imagination. It is very inspirational that Rishi Kapoor agreed to play such a role," said the 42-year-old filmmaker. "My film is about the most wanted man in India. The story is about an operation that takes place in Karachi to bring this man back to Indian shores." <em>D-Day</em> will feature Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, Arjun Rampal, Huma Qureshi and Shruti Haasan. The film is scheduled to be released on July 19.
