He Named Me Malala, the Image Nation Abu Dhabi-produced documentary about the youngest Nobel Peace laureate, earned praise from the stars when it made its European premiere at the London Film Festival over the weekend. The film offers an intimate portrait of Malala Yousafzai, the passionate Pakistani advocate of girls' education who survived a Taliban assassination attempt in 2012, when she was shot in the head while on a school bus. She was 14 at the time. Even the biggest stars attending the festival seemed humbled by the teenager and her aspirations. American actress Meryl Streep hailed her as a worthy heiress of the suffragettes who battled for the right to vote in Britain in the early 20th century. Filmed over 18 months in Britain, Abu Dhabi, Kenya, Nigeria and Jordan, the film was made by Oscar-winning American director David Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth). The film will be released in the UAE on November 5. – AP

Referring to the melancholy character he plays in The Last Witch Hunter, Diesel said: "2014 was a tough year for me.
