Emirati filmmaker directs shorts for MBC1
Attendees at the Gulf Film Festival in April had the chance for a first glimpse, but now Nayla Al Khaja's short films, produced in conjunction with Nivea, are being shown on TV. The Emirati director turned three love stories - chosen from more than 1,400 submitted - into short films, which are now being shown weekly on MBC1's daily morning show Sabah Al Khair Ya Arab. Viewers are invited to select their favourite by voting online from June 20 to July 4 at www.nivea-me.com/sensualmusk. The actor and comedian Andy Samberg is leaving Saturday Night Live. His publicist said on Friday he won't return as a cast member next season. Samberg's exit follows that of SNL's other lead cast member Kristen Wiig last month. "Kristen kept saying it just feels like it's her time," Samberg told the New York Times. "I connect with that. Something about it just feels like it's the moment." Like other Saturday Night Live alumni, Samberg will be seen on the big screen. • Tap started in May 2013 in Kuwait, allowing Middle East businesses to bill, accept, receive and make payments online “easier, faster and smoother” via goSell and goCollect. • PayPal is probably the best-known online goods payment method - usually used for eBay purchases - but can be used to receive funds, providing everyone’s signed up. Costs from 2.9 per cent plus Dh1.2 per transaction.
