New skateboard movie We Are Blood rolls into Dubai

Dubai is set to play a starring role in We Are Blood, a new film about skateboarding.

The documentary, filmed over the course of a year, follows leading skateboarder Paul Rodriguez – aka P-Rod – and his crew of young skaters around the world as they search for new skating locations in Spain, China and Dubai, as well as on a classic road trip across the United States.

One dizzying local scene features the crew skating on the Burj Al Arab’s helipad.

Through the film, P-Rod and his crew skate, experience foreign cultures, and, most importantly, forge new friendships, including one with skate legend Jamie Thomas.

The movie is directed by skate-movie legend Ty Evans, director of such skaters' favourites as Pretty Sweet and Yeah Right! It is co-produced by soft-drink manufacturer and skateboarding sponsor Mountain Dew's Green Label Films.

"I'm so excited to be a part of We Are Blood," says P-Rod. "This film offers something for everyone, whether you are a core skateboarder or a fan, while giving you an inside look into the deep passion that people share for skateboarding."

The film will be released in Ultra HD 4K and HD on digital-streaming platforms including iTunes, Amazon Instant Play and MGO worldwide in August 2015. It will also be released on DVD and Blu-ray globally, as well as nationwide in Target, Zumiez and other core skate shops.
