Disney's much-vaunted Lone Ranger adaptation, starring Johnny Depp, has been put on hold due to its spiralling price tag. Here are five other films that never saw the light of day.

Ghostbusters stars Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis had been gunning for a third instalment of the successful series, even going as far as penning a first draft script. But with Bill Murray refusing to take part in order to focus on more serious roles, the idea fizzled.

Take One... Who Killed Bambi?

It was supposed to be a punk music take of The Beatles' A Hard Day's Night starring The Sex Pistols, but the vulgar script by the film critic Roger Ebert reportedly caused 20th Century Fox to pull the funding.
