Ram Gopal Varma announced his forthcoming film, The Attacks of 26/11, has been simultaneously shot in English and Hindi. "The film is the same, it's just that the lines are in English. It will release across the world," said the filmmaker, who previously directed the crime thrillers Satya, Company and Sakar. The film, based on the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks which left 166 people dead, stars the actor Nana Patekar as a police commissioner opposite Sanjeev Jaiswal, who assumes the role of a terrorist. Patekar said filming was a challenge. "I'm not very good in speaking English so I messed up a lot of my lines. But we did it," he said. The crime saga's Hindi version will be released in UAE cinemas tomorrow. – IANS

The actress Amrita Rao says she's thrilled to co-star with the Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan in her latest project, Satyagraha. "We're shooting in Bhopal and I feel so blessed that all my scenes are with Amitabh Bachchan," said the 31-year-old star. "In fact, I can say 99 per cent of my scenes are with him. It's like a dream come true for me." While she was keen to talk about her co-stars, Rao was giving little of her character away: "I'm not allowed to talk much about the film and about the role," she said. "All I can say is that it's a fantastic part and that we've already shot around 10 days and have 55 more to go." So impressed has the filmmaker Karan Johar been with Saqib Saleem's acting that he's signed him up for multiple projects. His support of the 24-year-old actor has also extended to giving him tips on how to handle the media. Saleem headlines the forthcoming Bollywood comedy Mere Dad Ki Maruti, produced by Yash Raj Films. According to a production source, Johar has been giving Saleem tips on how to best approach movie promotions and press interviews, as well as interacting with fans. The film, scheduled for release in India on March 15, co-stars Ram Kapoor, Prabal Panjabi and Ravi Kishan. Johar has also cast the actor in his forthcoming project, Bombay Talkies, featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Rani Mukerji and Katrina Kaif. The veteran star, who stars in the television adaptation of the 1958 film Phir Subah Hogi, says she's thrilled by the variety of projects coming her way. Sinopharm vaccine explained
The Sinopharm vaccine was created using techniques that have been around for decades.
“This is an inactivated vaccine. Simply what it means is that the virus is taken, cultured and inactivated," said Dr Nawal Al Kaabi, chair of the UAE's National Covid-19 Clinical Management Committee.
"What is left is a skeleton of the virus so it looks like a virus, but it is not live."
This is then injected into the body.
"The body will recognise it and form antibodies but because it is inactive, we will need more than one dose. The body will not develop immunity with one dose," she said.
"You have to be exposed more than one time to what we call the antigen."
The vaccine should offer protection for at least months, but no one knows how long beyond that.
Dr Al Kaabi said early vaccine volunteers in China were given shots last spring and still have antibodies today.
“Since it is inactivated, it will not last forever," she said.
