Shruti Haasan attacked at her front door
Shruti Haasan was attacked on Tuesday morning at her residence by a man who had been stalking her for awhile, a source close to the actress said. "The stranger has been following her ever since she started shooting for Ramaiya Vastavaiya. Three days ago, he had also come on the set of her latest film. At the moment, she is very stressed and for her safety, she has moved to her friend's place," the source said, adding that Haasan was attacked when she answered the doorbell. Bieber controversy continues as Mexican president denies meeting the singer
Mexico's president has denied a tweet by Justin Bieber saying that the singer met with the president and his family before a show. President Enrique Peña Nieto's office put out a tweet on Monday that read: "@Presidenciamx denies meeting between President @EPN with the singer @justinbieber". That was a response to a tweet from Bieber's official account: "just met some amazing mexican beliebers and the presidente of mexico and his familia". It's the latest sour note in Bieber's controversy-filled Latin American tour. The 19-year-old pop sensation faces two criminal complaints and demands for refunds in Argentina, in addition to trouble with police for allegedly spraying graffiti in Brazil. – AP
Pakistan fines television networks with too much Indian and foreign content
Ten television entertainment channels in Pakistan have been slapped with a fine of 10 million Pakistani rupees (Dh341,500) each for broadcasting excessive Indian and foreign content, reported Pakistan's The News on Monday. The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority imposed the fine on the channels and issued warning letters, the report said. It quoted a document from the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage that said the local channels were broadcasting excessive Indian content, more than the "prescribed limits". – The National staff

Kelly Clarkson says she's expecting her first child. The 31-year-old singer posted on Twitter on Tuesday that she and her husband Brandon Blackstock are expecting their first child together. When Umm Kulthum performed in Abu Dhabi
Known as The Lady of Arabic Song, Umm Kulthum performed in Abu Dhabi on November 28, 1971, as part of celebrations for the fifth anniversary of the accession of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan as Ruler of Abu Dhabi. A concert hall was constructed for the event on land that is now Al Nahyan Stadium, behind Al Wahda Mall. The audience were treated to many of Kulthum's most well-known songs as part of the sold-out show, including Aghadan Alqak and Enta Omri.
