Northern Ireland unveils giant Game of Thrones tapestry

With all the hype surrounding the new season of Game of Thrones Tourism Ireland has put together a giant tapestry featuring Game of Throne's most memorable scenes.

The tapestry celebrates Northern Ireland, a major filming location for the series, from Winterfell to the Iron Islands.

The 77-metre tapestry will be displayed in the Ulster Museum in Belfast, with one segment revealed each week as GoT Season 7 unfolds. It takes you on a trip through all six seasons of the blockbuster series and features all the big moments  – think red weddings, green wildfire, blue White Walkers and black ravens.

You can watch the work being unveiled and also even zoom into examine details of the Bayeux-style tapestry on Tourism Ireland’s website.

The tapestry, made with linen from Northern Ireland, is remarkably detailed, and the website gives you an epic view of it. There is even a special app on the website where fans can share favourite scenes with friends, and where they were filmed in Northern Ireland. It is also the place to plan a visit to the actual places where Game of Thrones was filmed.

The tapestry is on display in the Ulster Museum in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
