The 25th Dubai Shopping Festival kicked off on Thursday with a free concert at Burj Park in Downtown Dubai. It was an evening dedicated to Arab pop with Emirati singer Hussain Al Jassimi regaling audiences with his performance. Also on the roster was Egyptian singer Sherine Abdel Wahab and Cheb Khaled, an Algerian Rai singer. Another free concert will be taking place on Friday with performances by former One Direction star Liam Payne, who released his debut album earlier this month, and singer-songwriter Jorja Smith. Some of the other concerts taking place in celebration of the launch of the 25th DSF include Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, who will be performing at the Coca Cola Area on Friday, and a special hologram concert from Umm Kulthum, taking place at Dubai Opera.
