Elissa is set to be the first major Arab star to drop new music during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Lebanese singer took to social media this week to confirm that she will release a new single soon.
When? Well, according to industry chatter, the tune could arrive as early as this week.
Although Elissa hasn't revealed the song title, she may have possibly hinted at it on her Instagram account. The post, which has a performance picture, carried the words “Hanaghani kaman wa kaman”: a poetic way to say "we shall sing again and again”.
The new song will go some way to soothe disappointed fans after Elissa's recent decision to delay the release of her much-anticipated album.
Originally set to be released during the Eid Al Fitr holidays this year, the follow up to 2018's successful Ila Kol Elli Bihebbouni will have a decidedly Egyptian flavour, with Elissa collaborating with composers Mohammed Rahim and Nader Abdullah, as well as lyricist Amir Teima.
When that album does eventually come out, fans and the music industry will be watching to see if Elissa intends to follow through with her statement that it will be her last.
The pop-star shocked fans last August when she took to Twitter to state that her upcoming project would be her final album. Although yet to fully explain her reasoning, her post indicated she felt creatively stifled by a regional music industry she described as a "mafia".
Another sore point for Elissa is her claim – made in another tweet in October 2018 – that her work had been "blocked" by Rotana Music.
The Saudi record label, also home to the music of Emirati singer Hussain Al Jassmi and Iraqi crooner Kadim Al Sahir, removed her catalogue from the streaming platform Anghami (where she had racked up over 500 million plays) in favour of Deezer due to a joint deal.
Whatever happens later on in her career, the stage is certainly set for Elissa to make a dramatic return to the limelight at some point in 2020.

The Emirates Charity Portal
You can donate to several registered charities through a “donation catalogue”. The use of the donation is quite specific, such as buying a fan for a poor family in Niger for Dh130.
The General Authority of Islamic Affairs & Endowments
The site has an e-donation service accepting debit card, credit card or e-Dirham, an electronic payment tool developed by the Ministry of Finance and First Abu Dhabi Bank.
Al Noor Special Needs Centre
You can donate online or order Smiles n’ Stuff products handcrafted by Al Noor students. The centre publishes a wish list of extras needed, starting at Dh500.
Beit Al Khair Society
Beit Al Khair Society has the motto “From – and to – the UAE,” with donations going towards the neediest in the country. Its website has a list of physical donation sites, but people can also contribute money by SMS, bank transfer and through the hotline 800-22554.
Dar Al Ber Society
Dar Al Ber Society, which has charity projects in 39 countries, accept cash payments, money transfers or SMS donations. Its donation hotline is 800-79.
Dubai Cares
Dubai Cares provides several options for individuals and companies to donate, including online, through banks, at retail outlets, via phone and by purchasing Dubai Cares branded merchandise. It is currently running a campaign called Bookings 2030, which allows people to help change the future of six underprivileged children and young people.
Emirates Airline Foundation
Those who travel on Emirates have undoubtedly seen the little donation envelopes in the seat pockets. But the foundation also accepts donations online and in the form of Skywards Miles. Donated miles are used to sponsor travel for doctors, surgeons, engineers and other professionals volunteering on humanitarian missions around the world.
Emirates Red Crescent
On the Emirates Red Crescent website you can choose between 35 different purposes for your donation, such as providing food for fasters, supporting debtors and contributing to a refugee women fund. It also has a list of bank accounts for each donation type.
Gulf for Good
Gulf for Good raises funds for partner charity projects through challenges, like climbing Kilimanjaro and cycling through Thailand. This year’s projects are in partnership with Street Child Nepal, Larchfield Kids, the Foundation for African Empowerment and SOS Children's Villages. Since 2001, the organisation has raised more than $3.5 million (Dh12.8m) in support of over 50 children’s charities.
Noor Dubai Foundation

Anti-semitic attacks
The annual report by the Community Security Trust, which advises the Jewish community on security , warned on Thursday that anti-Semitic incidents in Britain had reached a record high.
It found there had been 2,255 anti-Semitic incidents reported in 2021, a rise of 34 per cent from the previous year.
The report detailed the convictions of a number of people for anti-Semitic crimes, including one man who was jailed for setting up a neo-Nazi group which had encouraged “the eradication of Jewish people” and another who had posted anti-Semitic homemade videos on social media.

Some of French groups are threatening Friday to continue their journey to Brussels, the capital of Belgium and the European Union, and to meet up with drivers from other countries on Monday.
Belgian authorities joined French police in banning the threatened blockade. A similar lorry cavalcade was planned for Friday in Vienna but cancelled after authorities prohibited it.
How to come clean about financial infidelity
