American Idol may be getting a worldwide idol as a judge - Mariah Carey. A person familiar with the negotiations says Carey is being pursued to join the judging panel. There are two openings: both Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler announced last week they were leaving as judges. Randy Jackson, a manager and producer of Carey's, is the only judge left. Carey would give the show a dose of stardom, which is key considering the star power on Idol's rival, The X Factor, which added Britney Spears and Demi Lovato as judges for its second season. * AP
Stallone speaks about son's death
Sylvester Stallone said on Monday there was "no greater pain" than losing a child, begging for respect for his eldest son Sage, who died last week. Deep Purple's Jon Lord dies at 71
The British rocker Jon Lord, the former keyboardist of Deep Purple, died on Monday after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 71. Lord co-wrote some of Deep Purple's most famous numbers, including their best-known track Smoke on the Water, and later had a successful solo career following his retirement from the band in 2002. * AP

What is a robo-adviser?
Robo-advisers use an online sign-up process to gauge an investor’s risk tolerance by feeding information such as their age, income, saving goals and investment history into an algorithm, which then assigns them an investment portfolio, ranging from more conservative to higher risk ones.
These portfolios are made up of exchange traded funds (ETFs) with exposure to indices such as US and global equities, fixed-income products like bonds, though exposure to real estate, commodity ETFs or gold is also possible.
Investing in ETFs allows robo-advisers to offer fees far lower than traditional investments, such as actively managed mutual funds bought through a bank or broker. Investors can buy ETFs directly via a brokerage, but with robo-advisers they benefit from investment portfolios matched to their risk tolerance as well as being user friendly.
Many robo-advisers charge what are called wrap fees, meaning there are no additional fees such as subscription or withdrawal fees, success fees or fees for rebalancing.
