Britney Spears has posted a video on social media of her and Iranian boyfriend Sam Asghari celebrating her getting the Covid-19 vaccine.
In a post shared on both Twitter and Instagram on Friday, the Toxic singer high-fived Asghari, a personal trainer who was born in Tehran but moved to the US when he was 12.
"Alright, so what did you think of the vaccine?" Asghari, 27, asked in the video.
"OK, the people on the internet said it was really, really bad, like a bullet going through your arm," Spears, 39, replied. "It was nothing, I felt nothing.
"I'm fine and I hope I continue to stay fine."
They then shared a high-five and the Grammy-winning singer captioned the post: "Got the Covid vaccine," while adding in a reference to Borat: "Great success …. High-five!!!!!!"
Asghari later commented on Instagram: "As @sachabaroncohen saids great success."
It is not clear from the video if Asghari also got the vaccine, nor which brand the Grammy-winning singer opted for.
Celebrities react to Covid vaccine
Spears is among a number of celebrities who have been sharing their reactions to the Covid vaccine recently. Others include Mariah Carey, who let out two high-pitched screams as a nurse injected her, and Dolly Parton, who celebrated her dose by singing a special version of her classic hit Jolene.
World-famous cellist Yo-Yo Ma also put on an impromptu special performance for Massachusetts residents at Berkshire Community College, where the gymnasium has been turned into a vaccination centre.
Elsewhere, A-list couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively celebrated in their typical tongue-in-cheek style, taking to social media to share images of them having the jab, with Reynolds poking fun at online conspiracy theories, captioning his picture: “Finally got 5G.”
'Sale no mubarak'
In March, Spears and Asghari, who have been dating since 2016, shared another clip of themselves together, as he tried to teach her how to say "happy new year" in Farsi, marking Nowruz.
In a video shared to Instagram, Asghari repeats the phrase "sale no mubarak", with Spears repeating it back to him, without perfecting the pronunciation each time.
In the end, he says, "Alright, just say 'Happy Persian New Year'", which she does without a problem.
The Oops! ... I Did It Again singer has made headlines in the past couple of months, ever since The New York Times-produced documentary Framing Britney Spears landed on screens in February, shedding light on the conservatorship the singer is under, her most troubled years and the Free Britney campaign, which has been driven by devoted fans of the pop superstar.
Nearly two months after its release, Spears shared in another social media post that she "cried for two weeks" over the film, even though she didn't watch the whole thing.
"But from what I did see of it I was embarrassed by the light they put me in ... I cried for two weeks and, well, I still cry sometimes," she wrote in a post that was accompanied by a video of her dancing to Crazy by Aerosmith.

Where to buy art books in the UAE
There are a number of speciality art bookshops in the UAE.
In Dubai, The Lighthouse at Dubai Design District has a wonderfully curated selection of art and design books. Alserkal Avenue runs a pop-up shop at their A4 space, and host the art-book fair Fully Booked during Art Week in March. The Third Line, also in Alserkal Avenue, has a strong book-publishing arm and sells copies at its gallery. Kinokuniya, at Dubai Mall, has some good offerings within its broad selection, and you never know what you will find at the House of Prose in Jumeirah. Finally, all of Gulf Photo Plus’s photo books are available for sale at their show.
In Abu Dhabi, Louvre Abu Dhabi has a beautiful selection of catalogues and art books, and Magrudy’s – across the Emirates, but particularly at their NYU Abu Dhabi site – has a great selection in art, fiction and cultural theory.
In Sharjah, the Sharjah Art Museum sells catalogues and art books at its museum shop, and the Sharjah Art Foundation has a bookshop that offers reads on art, theory and cultural history.
