Coldplay, Rihanna close London Paralympics
Coldplay, Rihanna and Jay-Z rocked the Olympic Stadium on Sunday to give the Paralympic Games a rousing send-off. Coldplay's Chris Martin belted out hits such as Clocks, Viva La Vida and Paradise. The British band, who were given a standing ovation when they performed their final song, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, said: "We can't actually imagine a bigger honour." Rihanna, who sang her hit We Found Love, said: "These athletes are gladiators and are a true inspiration to me." Rapper Jay-Z performed his track Run This Town. Lively, Reynolds reportedly married
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds married over the weekend in an intimate ceremony, reported People magazine. The wedding was reportedly held in South Carolina. Florence Welch, of Florence and the Machine, reportedly performed three songs at the reception party. The couple's representatives have yet to confirm the news. The two actors starred together in last year's superhero movie Green Lantern. The couple purchased a home in New York earlier this year. Reynolds was previously married to Scarlett Johansson for two years; they divorced in 2010. This is Lively's first marriage.
Cobie Smulders and Taran Killam wed, too
Another Hollywood wedding is in the news: the How I Met Your Mother star Cobie Smulders tied the knot with the Saturday Night Live actor Taran Killam on Saturday in California. The ceremony was attended by their families and close friends, including Smulders' co-stars Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan. The couple, who announced their engagement in 2009, have a three-year-old daughter.
Third Before Sunrise movie finishes shooting
Mere days after Ethan Hawke announced that he was in Greece with the director Richard Linklater to brainstorm for the third instalment of their 1995 hit romantic drama Before Sunrise, Deadline reports that the two, along with the lead actress Julie Delpy, have finished filming the movie, titled Before Midnight and set in Messinia, Greece. In the film, Hawke and Delpy reprise their roles as Jesse and Celine, 18 years after their first encounter. An official announcement from Linklater's studio, Detour Film Production, is expected in the coming weeks.
Biggest Loser adds teenagers
The Biggest Loser will return in January with the weight-loss show's first teenage participants (between the ages of 13 and 17) and the trainer Jillian Michaels back on duty. NBC says the show's 14th season will take on a new "mission against the increase in childhood obesity". Unlike previous seasons, the teenagers won't be subject to elimination from the show and will not be weighed for the broadcast. * AP
