Egyptian actor Ezzat El Alaili has died aged 86 on February 5, his family has announced.
His son, Mahmoud, a dentist, shared the news on Friday afternoon on his Facebook page, saying a funeral prayer would be held after the Asr prayer.
The post has since received hundreds of condolence messages from fans and friends.

The veteran film, TV and theatre actor has 54 acting credits to his name on IMDb, dating back to 1963, when he had a small part in a British crime-drama called Cairo, although his career actually dates back to the 1950s.
Other classic films he's starred in include 1993's El-Tareiq Ela Eilat, in which he played Colonel Radi, and El-Toot Wi El-Nabbout (1986).
Al Alaili, who was born in Cairo in 1934, has won numerous awards and accolades throughout his career.
In 2015, he won a lifetime achievement award at the Dubai Film Festival, and in 2016 he was honoured at the Sharjah International Book Fair for his "significant contribution to Egyptian cinema over many decades and his highly creative interpretations of the best Egyptian and Arabic novels through a huge collection of films and TV series".
Some of his best-known contributions to the movie industry have been through his roles in films based on novels by renowned 20th-century Arab authors. This includes 1971's murder mystery Al Ikhtiar (The Choice), based on a novel by Egyptian author and Nobel prizewinner Naguib Mahfouz.
While he's remained active throughout his career, Al Alaili was particularly busy in the 1970s and 1980s, when he starred in 35 films and series.
His latest role was in the 2019 TV series Qaid Aayeli.
El Alaili's last public appearance was in November at the Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival, which was held in the actor's honour.
He also has a daughter, Ragaa, who has a degree in literature, according to IMDb.
The cause of death has not been confirmed.

How to get exposure to gold
