They may be about two months behind schedule, but the 93rd Academy Awards are set to take place in Los Angeles on Sunday night, which means they'll be available to watch live very early on Monday morning in the UAE.

All of the red-carpet action and the full ceremony will be available to watch on OSN, on both OSN Movies and OSN OnDemand.

On OSN Movies, Live On the Red Carpet: At the Oscars is scheduled to show at 00.30am, followed by Live at the 93rd Academy Awards: Pre-Show at 2.30am and Live at the 93rd Academy Awards at 4am (all times GST on Monday).

The ceremony is expected to last for three hours; for the third year, the show is going presenter-free, instead attracting a series of "high-profile" presenters including Brad Pitt, Halle Berry and Bong Joon-ho.

“We are immensely proud to have been the home of the Oscars for the past six years,” said Rolla Karam, interim chief content officer at OSN.

"Hollywood's highest profile event recognises the very best in entertainment, it is now time to relive some of the greatest movie moments and watch as the creme de la creme of the film industry come together for this very special night. Both pre- and post-ceremony specials will air on OSN, and there are as many splendid moments to expect as there will be in the ceremony itself."

This year, the Academy Awards are set to be an entirely different affair to years gone by, amid the Covid-19 pandemic. There will be a smaller red carpet, missing international stars and a socially distanced ceremony.

This year's ceremony will be predominantly broadcast from Los Angeles's Union Station, which first opened in 1939, with a sleek and slick set recently unveiled for the Sunday awards.
