From 'Jessie' to 'Descendants': how we watched Cameron Boyce grow up on screen — in pictures

News that American actor Cameron Boyce has passed away at 20 years of age has shocked the world. Many fans have been looking back at his acting career, which began in 2008, when he was aged just nine. Boyce's first role was as Michael Carson in Alexandre Aja's horror film, Mirrors , which co-starred Kiefer Sutherland and Paula Patton. From there he went on to play Sam Holloman in thriller Eagle Eye, with Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan. Click though the gallery above to see Cameron Boyce in his many on-screen roles. Following a seven episode run in General Hospital: Night Shift in 2008, Boyce was cast as Keithie Feder, who played Adam Sandler's son in the 2010 film Grown Ups . In 2011, Boyce was cast in Jessie , a Disney show about a Texan teen who moves to New York City and becomes a nanny to four rich children. He played Luke Ross, one of the siblings looked after by Jessie , the nanny. The Disney role opened doors to voice work in popular cartoon series Jake and the Never Land Pirates and ultimately a role in Disney's made-for-TV movie, Descendants , about the children of some of Disney's most famous villains. Boyce played Carlos, son of 101 Dalmatians ' Cruella De Vil. The movie also features the children of Aladdin 's Jafar, Snow White 's Evil Queen and Maleficent. Since the movie's premiere, there has been a 2015 spin off TV series Descendants: Wicked World, and a 2017 sequel, Descendants 2. Descendants 3 is set to be released on August 2 this year. At the time of his death, he completed filming parts in new series, Paradise City , and movie, Runt . According to IMDb, Paradise City is about the "lives of a rock star who seems to have it all and a young rookie kid who idolises him". Runt follows "a group of high school seniors are pulled into a downward cycle of violence." He was also working on Kathryn Hahn project, Mrs Fletcher , a series about a single mother, whose son had left for college, leaving her to rebuild her life alone.
