Veteran Egyptian actress Youssra has tested positive for Covid-19.
The star, who is currently undergoing medical treatment, confirmed the news through posts on her social media platforms on Friday.
"I want to express my thanks and gratitude to all my friends in Egypt and abroad and to the fans for their concern after testing positive for coronavirus. I also want to give special thanks to the Ministry of Health and to all the doctors and medical staff who are taking care of me." she wrote in a tweet.
Since the news broke, Youssra has received an outpour of support from fans and regional stars in the industry.
Egypt recorded 1,133 new coronavirus cases on Friday, December 25 - the highest daily toll in almost five months. The country has reported over 7,000 deaths to date since the start of the pandemic.
The legendary Egyptian actress has made more than 50 films since she made her big screen debut in 1977's Fatah Tabhath Aan Al-Hob (A Girl Searching for Love). Back in July 2019, she officially joined as a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

3. ‘I will treat my hair better out of the chair’
Damage control is a big part of most hairstylists’ work right now, but it can be avoided. Steer clear of over-colouring at home, try and pursue one hair brand at a time and never, ever use a straightener on still drying hair, pleads Massoud.
