The final day of the Abu Dhabi Book Fair will be on Tuesday, May 3. Here are some our of suggestions on what to do.
Iraqi food by chef Raghad Al Safi
Each region in Iraq has its own specialities: the south is known for its seafood dishes, with spices similar to those used in the Gulf, such as lime, cumin and turmeric. The north is famous for its kubbas (minced meat and bulgur patties), while Baghdad is best known for its dolmas and stews. Chef Raghad Al Safi is now an expert in them all, and will be sharing the secrets of the Iraqi family kitchen during a live cookery show. The seasoned expat from Baghdad, who now lives in Dubai, has just published her first book, The Iraqi Table, which details her country's culinary traditions.

Rawafid
Arab media is sometimes accused of neglecting deeper cultural issues. But Lebanese novelist and journalist Ahmad Al Zein has been bucking this perceived trend since 2003 with his documentary series Rawafid, in which the Arab world's intellectuals and artists take centre stage. Al Zein has picked the brains of literary greats such as Moroccan writer Taher Ben Jelloun and liberal theologian Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd, exploring their insights on current issues in the world of culture, arts and science. Rawafid is the topic of discussion in this open meeting with Al Zein, who is also known for his trilogy of novels, The Edge of Oblivion (2007), Suhbat Al Tayer (2010) and Barid Al Ghouroub (2014).
