Yas Mall has set a new Guinness World Record by creating the largest sand art structure.
A team of artists created an eye-catching display just ahead of the UAE’s National Day. The sand art structures weights 2,245.5kg and shows four camels in the desert under the blue sky. The work is currently on display in Town Hall until December 5.
This is just one of the many Guinness World Record attempts over the weekend as Dubai's Global Village also tried to set new records by creating the largest flag number, the largest bottle cap sentence and the largest admission ticket mosaic.
The UAE isn’t new to setting records. Last month, two Emirati women helped set their own Guinness World Records. Meera Al Hosani created the world’s largest sock word, spelling “happiness” in Arabic using 1,447 socks while Khawla Al Romaithi, set a world record for the fastest time to travel to all seven continents.
The country is home to over 420 Guinness World Records including largest wooden Arabic dhow, largest artificial flower mosaic (logo), most people performing burpees, the largest abaya and the most expensive Christmas tree decorated.
