Rachid Koraichi to open his first major US show

Algerian born artist Rachid Koraïchi, who is part of collections of some of the most major institutions in the world, will open his first large solo exhibition in Aicon Gallery in New York this week.

Koraïchi, who won the prestigious Jameel Prize in 2011, was included in the in 47th and 49th Venice Biennale as well as being exhibited in the British Museum and The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) will be showing Love Side by Side with the Soul - a show featuring his stunning sculptures as well as ceramics, textiles and canvases.

The exhibition coincides with the Armory Art Show, which begins on Thursday.

Koraïchi recently had an exhibition in Dubai’s El Marsa gallery, the first show for this Tunisian gallery that opened in January and he is currently showing a large scale installation at the Marrakech Biennale. His Le Chemin des Roses [Path of Roses] (1995-2005) series was also exhibited last year in the inaugural exhibition of the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi collection.

Aicon Gallery will also be exhibiting at Art Dubai in March.
