Sheikha Alyazia bint Nahyan al Nahyan, the Emirati artist who has had her work displayed in Emirati Expressions and been nominated for the International Emerging Artist Award, has a new book out featuring her art.
The young sheikha, daughter of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan the minister of culture, youth and social development, is probably most well known for her work Carrom Station, a sculptural and painting series focusing on the traditional Emirati game of the same name, which she fuses with new technology.
Her monograph, produced and distributed by Dubai’s Motivate Publishing house, is a retrospective look at her art since she began with biographical information about the young artist.
It was launched at Abu Dhabi Art last week and is already on shelves of most major book stores across the UAE.
Sheikha Alyazia had her debut solo exhibition, Dialogue, in 2011 at Artspace, Dubai.
