The exhibition uses satellite images of the emirate to show its evolution over the past 50 years.
The light art installation is set to music and is best viewed in the evening.
The installation was created using a network of LED lights over an area of 18 metres by 11 metres.
Visitors are able to stand underneath the illuminated map and enjoy a dynamic light display with a vibrant sound accompaniment.
The illuminated map hangs eight metres above DIFC Gate Avenue.
City Gazing Dubai runs until January 29.
